These packages cover two parks: Udawalawe National Park and Yala Block 5 and 6. Both sit in Sri Lanka's deep south, roughly thirty minutes apart by road. Udawalawe is open grassland and elephant herds — consistent sightings, wide skies, ideal for families and first-timers. Yala Block 5 and 6 is denser jungle with far fewer vehicles: leopards, sloth bears, and a silence you don't find in the more crowded Block 1.

Every safari is private. Your group only, no strangers added to fill a jeep. If you are two people, the whole vehicle is yours. The route adjusts to what you are seeing, not to a fixed schedule written before you arrived.

Park entrance fees are a separate cost paid at the government gate on the day. They are not included in any package price here, because the total depends on your exact group composition: how many adults, how many children. The ticket table further down this page shows you exact figures.

Starter Safari

The right starting point. Either early morning or late afternoon, the two hours on each end of the day when light is low and animals are moving. Fits around other plans without feeling rushed.

No deposit needed

You don't pay anything upfront. We just talk on WhatsApp, sort out the details, and you pay me on the day. No card numbers, no booking forms, nothing complicated. I'd rather we start with a bit of trust between us.

Always your own jeep

Every safari is just your group. I never put strangers together in one jeep to fill the seats. If it's just the two of you, the whole jeep is yours. It makes the morning quieter, and it's easier to stop and sit wherever you like.

No promises on sightings

This is the honest part. Wildlife is wild, and nobody can promise you a leopard. What I can do is take you to the right place at the right time, with someone who really knows how to read the park. Most days, that turns out to be enough.

For most people, the Signature Safari is the right starting point. Six hours gives you enough time to move slowly, wait in the right spots, and come back without feeling rushed. The Starter Safari suits guests with tight schedules or those fitting a safari around other plans. The Full Day is for people who want everything, including sections of the park that most visitors never reach. Photography Tours are built for guests with dedicated camera equipment who want the itinerary shaped around light and target species rather than general touring.
No, and this is true of every operator in Sri Lanka, not just us. Entrance fees are set by the Department of Wildlife Conservation and collected at the gate on the day. They are separate because the total depends on your group: adults (13 and over) pay $25 each, children aged 6 to 12 pay $15 each, and there is a $10 service charge per jeep plus 18% VAT. Children under 6 enter free. The table on this page shows exact totals for every group size.
Yes, and it works very well. The parks are about thirty minutes apart by road. Many guests do one morning at each across two consecutive days: Udawalawe for elephants and open grassland on day one, Yala Block 5 or 6 for leopards and denser jungle on day two. Just tell us your dates and we'll plan the combination.
Two to three days is ideal, especially during peak season (January to April and July to August). We can sometimes fit in last-minute requests, but jeep and guide availability is limited so earlier is better. There is no deposit, no booking form, and no payment upfront. Everything is confirmed via WhatsApp and you settle on the day.
Yes. Both parks are family-friendly. Udawalawe is the easier introduction for younger children: open terrain, consistent elephant sightings, and shorter distances to cover. For families with children under eight, the 4-hour morning Starter Safari tends to work better than a full day. Yala Block 5 and 6 suits slightly older children who enjoy a wilder, less predictable experience.
Morning safaris enter the park at 6am when the gates open. That first hour is the best of the day: cooler, quieter, and with the best light for photography. Afternoon safaris enter around 2:30 to 3pm and run until the 6pm closing time. Full Day safaris begin at 6am and stay through to closing, with a midday rest break.
